    Yellow compote with pansies
    7 1/8" Top Diameter
    3 1/4" Base Diameter
    3 1/2" High
    Moorcroft Pottery Compote - Background glaze is a lovely yellow so pale it appears ivory in certain light.  Compote top is decorated with vividly colored, tube lined blue & yellow pansies.
    Compote was pre-owned but is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, stains or repairs.  There is overall glaze crazing that is common in vintage Moorcroft pieces and it doesn't detract a bit.  The bottom of the base is signed with green "WM" initials and there is an incised mark but it is faint and only the first letters of "Moorcroft" can be made out.  There also appears to be glue residue that may be from a paper Royal Warrant sticker which would help to date the piece a little if it were present.  As it stands, the incised mark and initials date the compote to between 1949 and 1986.
